Pia & Avneesh

December 11, 2017

What a beautiful and joyful celebration the wedding of Pia and Avneesh was!  I  thoroughly enjoyed my experience photographing their wedding and witnessing their love for each other and the love of two families coming together!  It was one that I will never forget! Yall you have to check out these pics!  Her best friends even made a dancing/acting skit for the newly weds at the reception!  I’ve never seen anything like it!  So much love!  Thank you again Pia for having me document such a special time in your lives!  This was very hard to choose just a few highlight photos so I hope you enjoy them!!

Here is a little about my beautiful couple from my stunning bride Pia;

When Avneesh’s profile appeared on my Coffee Meets Bagel app in August of 2105, I didn’t think much of it. I must have quickly swiped through his pictures, scanned over his profile for any red flags, and then clicked on “like.” At some point after, he messaged me with a non-generic response to one of my pictures – “Photo 1: Pia can’t take her hands off ‘Over’, the most engrossing coffee table book in the world, but we managed to get her to look intently at the camera, if only for a moment. :)” I was happy that he asked for my number and invited me to get drinks soon after the app connected us, saving us both the torture of extensive pointless banter between strangers. If I could choose one word to describe him when we met, it would be “interesting.” We spent several hours chatting as we sipped on wine and indulged in a platter of cheeses, crackers, and jams. It was my favorite type of evening.
We quickly became “official” and on our one year anniversary, Avneesh planned a trip to Kauai, Hawaii. It was the most romantic little island I had ever been to and although I had initially suspected he may propose, with no signs of grand plans in sight halfway into the trip, I concluded that it wasn’t going to happen during the vacation. However, the end of the trip took a turn. By suggesting we take an early morning walk along the beach of our hotel, the St. Regis, to make the most of the picturesque setting and get some photos, I unknowingly walked into Avneesh’s proposal plan! During our walk, Avneesh asked me to marry him AND I got those pictures I wanted because he had hired a professional photographer to lurk nearby.
Throughout the following year Avneesh continued planning fun dates and getaways while I focused my full attention on planning our wedding. Although figuring out the logistics for a big fat Indian wedding spanning multiple days for hundreds of guests was no cake walk, the end result was definitely worth it! We enjoyed an entire week of wedding-related festivities filled with lots of food and dancing with our family and friends who flew in from all over the world.

The Hindu wedding ceremony was the climax of the events, taking place shortly before sunset on the golf course at Sweetwater Country Club on a sunny fall Friday. The ceremony was followed by cocktails, entertainment, dinner, and dancing in the grand ballroom.

Since much of our family lives in India and were unable to attend our wedding due to the distance, we are heading there to meet them soon for another few days of wedding-related events. Afterwards, we will end this year and begin the new one on the sandy beaches of the Philippines during our much awaited honeymoon!
