Hi Friends! =) Thanks for visiting and indulging me by reading my thoughts (they get a bit scattered at times hehe). Today I am finally sharing my One Word for 2018. New Years usually bring new commitments, goals & resolutions. I have never been someone to make yearly resolutions. However I am always trying to set new goals in personal growth and knowledge.
This last December I started a short Bible plan titled One Word That Will Change Your life. I started this not even knowing that it was meant for the start of a new year! Such perfect timing! How cool is that! =) It was meant to be, hehe. I went though the one week plan and decided to repeat the study and invite others to join me in the study and find our ONE word for this 2018! I continued to do my daily study and plans and also my favorite podcasts, Daily Hope by Pastor Rick Warren, when I finished the One Word plan. Through these days following as I was praying and reading and waiting for my word, I noticed a specific theme/ word continually come back to me. I am finally sure about my word! I took the whole month of January to make sure it wasn’t just a word that I picked but one that was given to me. =). My word for 2018 is DREAM!
From the Bible this verse would continually tug at my head and heart.
The verse is
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or IMAGINE (Dream), according to his power that is at work within us.
I am very excited for this word because we are most like our creator when we create! Dreaming is the start to creating! Our imaginations (dreams) shape our lives! What we think effects how we feel. How we feel affect how we act. If we want to change the way we act we have to change the way we think. Imagination is a gift from God! Imagination is a Tool! It’s time I put this tool into real action. =) I’m talking about dreams in all areas of my life! Dreams for my marriage. dreams for my kiddos. Dreams for my faith. Dreams for my friends. Dreams for my passions. dreams for my health. Dreams for everything!
Fix your thoughts on what is true, honorable and right. think about things that are pure, lovely and admirable.
There is a great correlation between Faith and Dreams (imagination).
God inspired Dreams:
My imagination shapes my Life: The way I think is going to affect the way I feel. The way I feel will affect the way I act. If I want to change the way I act I must change the way I think.
I want to discover God’s dream for my life while I dream this year! God’s dream for my life is bigger than the dream I have for my life. Haha I have some pretty big dream ya’ll. =) Yet I am doing such a small portion of what He would have me do. Within me God can do so much more. I want to be open to it! I know HE wants me to use the imagination He gave me. I will base my dreams on what I think God can do!! Let the size of my God determine my Dream!
It takes COURAGE to Dream! Doubt is the enemy of imagination! Failure and doubt with neutralize what God wants to do in our lives. My kiddos are amazing when it comes to Dreaming up possibilities! As adults I find we become more afraid of failure. We get stuck in the ‘statuesque’ meaning, ‘the mess we are in’. Haha Lets take a lesson from our bright and courageous kiddos. Just do it anyway! I don’t want to let fear, doubt or failure dictate my life. So today let’s agree to start ‘doubting our doubts’ and ‘believing our beliefs’. =)
Everything in this world began from imagination! Here are some quotes from some people you may have heard of:
George Bernard Shaw: “Imagination is the beginning of Creation. You imagination what you desire, you will what you imagine and you create what you will.”
Albert Einstein: “ Imagination is more important than knowledge. Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere. A true sign of intelligence is not knowledge but imagination.”
C.S.Lewis: “Imagination is the organ of meaning”
Napoleon Bonaparte: “Imagination rules the world.
Pascal: “Imagination decides everything
William Arthur Ward: “If you can imagine it you can achieve it. If you can dream, it you can become it.”
George Lucas 😉 : “You can not do it unless you can imagine it.”
Walt Disney 😉 : “Disney will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world.”
Dreaming/ Imagination is essential to living by faith! I want my dreams this year to take me to a new level in my faith. I am ready to see miracles. Little or big to others around me they are still miracles! Dream big this year! My God is BIG so I don’t want to limit him! I know he is ready to change my life this year!
What are your Dreams?
Some questions to ask yourself:
Why not me?
Great Lives are built on Great Dreams! A Great Cause, Great Purpose or a Great Dream!
